ABA & Climate
Welcome to the ABA & Climate Help Center

It’s 2045, and you’re visiting your grandkids. One of them asks, “what did you do to stop climate change when you were younger, grandma?’ What will you say? Did you do all that you could when you had the chance? Will you be proud of your answer?
Welcome to the ABA & Climate section of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies! We invite you to explore the information and links below to learn more about how you can utilize the principles of ABA to take action on climate change.
The impacts of climate change are irrefutable, numerous, and increasing. It is important for all of us to do what we can to rapidly reduce carbon emissions and facilitate the transition to clean energy. As behavior analysts, we understand that we are a species whose behavior is largely controlled by social motivating operations and reinforcement. We can leverage these behavioral processes to accelerate pro-climate action within the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) community. Further, we are well-equipped to participate in addressing the climate crisis through the application of behavior analysis, including data tracking & analysis, and development of interventions.
