The challenges we face whether in our personal and family lives, or at work, or in our communities, or in the larger arenas of managing our physical, social and political environments are linked by a single, sometimes wonderful and sometimes frustrating common factor, human behavior. The mission of the Cambridge Center is to advance the scientific study of behavior and its applications to the problems of society. Our web site has been created to help people to improve the quality of their lives by understanding behavior, and how to take action to manage and change it. We want www.behavior.org to be the world's premier resource for information about behavior. The Cambridge Center relies on many dedicated professionals to bring you trustworthy, verifiable information about effective ways to manage or change behavior in the home, school, and workplace. This material, written by experts in behavioral science and reviewed by their peers, many of whom are Directors and Trustees as well as Advisors of the Center, is based on nearly a century of research, not opinions or fads. Where appropriate, references to the scientific literature are provided. The Cambridge Center is a not-for-profit, charitable (501, C-3) organization. We advance our mission by disseminating and interpreting behavioral research for your use and for the benefit of everyone who can make a difference in the lives of their families, communities and organizations; parents, teachers, physicians, attorneys, nurses, counselors, judges, engineers, and managers from corporate executives to first line supervisors in business, industry and government. The Center is funded by membership contributions, book sales, grants, and conference proceeds. On behalf of the Trustees, Advisors, and Members of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, welcome to www.behavior.org, your premier source for information on behavior. If you have questions about our website or the Cambridge Center please contact me by email or phone (978-369-2227). Thanks for visiting our site. |
